With the holidays wrapping up, I’ve been thinking about all the twists and turns this year brought. I’m not big on resolutions, but it feels like the perfect time to look back at what I’ve learned and think about what’s next in 2025.
Big Takeaways from 2024
Building a community is everything. My community has grown in every way this year. These connections have made me happer and more balanced, both as a business owner and mom. Community isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a foundation and I can't wait to see how mine continues to grow.
Redefining growth in my business. 2024 wasn't my most profitable year yet, but it was so valuable. I improved my skills as a jewelry maker—refining my soldering technique, designing new pieces, and improving processes. I also developed new skills, like creating content to better share my work with the world and really diving into the world of online marketing.
Learning from challenges. Not everything I tried worked out. I spent so much time (and money) testing new avenues that didn’t pan out (Meta ads, you were a hard lesson). Running a small business means taking risks, and not every one of them will pay off. But those challenges have made me even more grateful for the wins, big and small, and for all the years that have come before.
Thoughts for 2025
Blurring the lines between personal and business life. Customers have become friends. Friends have become customers. My “work day” often includes cuddling with my girls or being in the studio before sunrise. And I'm still trying to figure out if that's okay...
Boundaries can be tricky, especially when you run a business that’s as personal as mine. I want to figure out how to balance it all in 2025 while still protecting my time and energy.
Focusing on balance. This business doesn’t need to make me millions, but it has to stay sustainable while still being something I love. That balance—between profitability, creativity, and joy—is my focus for the year ahead.
Looking Back and Feeling Grateful
When I think back on 2024, I'm reminding myself that progress doesn’t always look like a straight line. Some years are about big wins; others are about quiet growth. I’m a better jewelry maker and business owner than I was when it started, and that feels like success.
Thank you for being part of this journey! Whether you’ve purchased a piece, liked a post, or simply cheered me on, you’ve played a role in making this year what it was. I’m so excited for what 2025 will bring—for all of us!
